Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce to Unveil Innovative Model at Its 2025 Annual Convention
The Convention will take place at Liberty Square in San Patricio Plaza, integrating local businesses and SMEs in a dynamic, never-before-seen format.
New IPSOS findings on Puerto Rico’s business climate, and perception of health, education, cost and quality of life, to be unveiled
San Juan, P.R. – June 6, 2025 — The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CCPR) cordially invites the entire business community, industry leaders, and professionals from diverse fields to join its 2025 Annual Convention. This flagship event breaks from traditional business conference formats, offering a unique platform for economic development, innovation, and the creation of strategic connections that will strengthen Puerto Rico’s future.
“The 2025 Annual Convention is more than just an event—it marks a turning point for Puerto Rico. As a historic institution representing the commercial sector, we are embracing innovation with a bold, dynamic format designed to foster candid and constructive dialogue among key economic, governmental, and business stakeholders,” said CCPR President, Lcdo. Luis E. Pizarro Otero. “We’ve created a space where ideas are not just discussed but transformed into concrete actions. By focusing on critical themes like energy and exports, we aim to generate solutions that will positively impact the island’s development over the next decade.”
The 2025 Convention agenda features a comprehensive range of activities designed to tackle the most relevant economic issues of the day. On June 11–12, attendees may take part in continuing education sessions for lawyers and CPAs, member meetings, speed networking, and expert panels and forums on energy, export strategies, sports tourism, and the creative economy. Highlights include the panel “Urgent Need to Meet Our Energy Demand,” featuring experts and government officials, and the forum “From Puerto Rico to the World,” focusing on export and international trade strategies. Under the theme “Igniting Connections,” the event also presents networking opportunities and concurrent sessions tailored for SME development and business growth.
Mickey Espada, Chairman of the Convention Committee, described this year’s event as “innovative and distinctive.” He added, “At President Pizarro’s request, we have designed a convention that honors small businesses by hosting it where they operate—right in Liberty Square. We’ve turned the venue into a vast business hall where not only do we learn, but we also showcase our products and brands.”
On Wednesday, June 11, parallel educational tracks will be offered on tax and legal matters as well as higher education and health care topics to meet Puerto Rico’s workforce challenges. These sessions will earn Continuing Education credits for licensed professionals. The day will conclude with remarks from Governor Jenniffer González Colón and other special guests.
To continue the dialogue started by last year’s migration study, the CCPR has again commissioned IPSOS to conduct a qualitative study on residents’ and businesses’ perceptions of Puerto Rico’s business climate and quality of life—including healthcare, education, safety, and economic conditions. The findings will be analyzed and discussed by panels of public and private sector leaders on Thursday, June 12.
With SMEs representing approximately 80% of CCPR membership, the convention includes panel discussions under the theme “Business Boost: Connecting Vision, Brand, and Financing” to empower this vital economic sector. Additionally, the tourism and sports-entertainment industries will take center stage in “Stage & Field: Engine of the New Economy,” featuring concurrent sessions and expert speakers offering insights and practical tools.
CCPR Executive Director, Lcda. Liza M. García, emphasized the convention’s role as more than an idea-sharing platform: “By bringing together diverse sectors—from small enterprises to multinational corporations—we aim to build a vibrant and sustainable business ecosystem for the Island. We’re particularly excited about our emphasis on SMEs and the creative economy, as we know that’s where the true engine of our economic recovery lies.”
