Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce Launches “Desde el Tapón” Podcast
New platform for conversations with business owners and leaders driving Puerto Rico’s economic development
San Juan, Puerto Rico – August 10, 2026 — The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) launched “Desde el Tapón,” a new morning podcast designed to connect with Puerto Rico’s business community through conversations about the challenges, opportunities, and trends affecting the private sector and the Island’s economy.
The podcast, which will air twice a month at 7:00 a.m. on YouTube, will feature business owners, leaders, and PRCC members who will share their experiences, perspectives, and strategies for navigating the challenges of doing business in Puerto Rico.
“Desde el Tapón” premiered with Mateo Cidre, President and Founder of Sobao by Los Cidrines and La Bodeguita. The next episode will air on Monday, August 24, featuring a new guest who will be announced soon through the PRCC’s digital platforms.
“We’ll be ‘Desde el Tapón’ every other Monday, joined by business owners, leaders, and Chamber members who are contributing to the growth and development of our Island. We want to create a space to discuss strategies, challenges, and solutions, as well as the issues shaping the business agenda and those that can contribute to strengthening our economy,” explained José “Che” Julio Aparicio Laspina, Esq., President of the PRCC.
Liza García, Executive Director of the PRCC, highlighted the opportunity this new platform provides to engage more closely with the business community and address topics of interest to those already doing business in Puerto Rico as well as those considering entrepreneurship.
“It was time to take advantage of that time ‘Desde el Tapón’ and turn it into an opportunity to learn, discover, and hear new ideas. We’ll talk about the opportunities available to our members and the issues transforming the way we do business, including innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology, among others. Through the experiences of business owners, leaders, and PRCC members, we will bring relevant and valuable conversations to our business community,” García emphasized.
Finally, Aparicio Laspina invited business owners, merchants, and entrepreneurs to make “Desde el Tapón” part of their morning routine and take advantage of the content the new platform will offer.
“We want ‘Desde el Tapón’ to become a space that business owners can benefit from as they begin their day—a moment to stay informed, hear real-world experiences, discover opportunities, and learn about tools that can help them make better business decisions. Our commitment is to deliver useful, timely, and relevant conversations that contribute to the success of our business community while also supporting Puerto Rico’s economic development,” said the PRCC President.
