Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce Speaks Out Around Alleged Accusations and Arrests Against Public and Private Sector Officers

August 4, 2022 (San Juan, P.R.)– The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) spoke out about the alleged accusations against public and private sector officers and arrests announced by the Bureau of Federal Investigation (FBI) this morning.

“This kind of news should dismay us all because of the impact it has on the image of our country in the eyes of the world and at the federal level. Corruption, whether governmental or otherwise, is an obstacle that harms economic development and undermines the investment climate in Puerto Rico. As a country, we must restore trust in our institutions and clean up public service. As the oldest trade union representing the country’s commercial and business sector, the Chamber of Commerce encourages private enterprise to operate with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism always, to facilitate our economic growth with transparency and verticality,” said Cameron McKenzie, president of the PRCC.
