Winners of the Puerto Rico Conecta Tournament announced Chamber of Commerce and Made in Puerto Rico

First edition of the joint golf tournament of Both Private Sector Organizations Debut with Broad Participation

The Kennedy Dining Room and the Center for Puerto Rico were the two entities that benefited from the sporting event’s fundraiser.

San Juan, Puerto Rico –The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CCPR) and the Made in Puerto Rico Association (HPR) announced the winners of the first edition of the tournament: Puerto Rico Conecta, a joint initiative of both private sector guilds that took place at Palmas Athletic Club in Humacao. The sporting event benefited with an economic contribution to the Center for Puerto Rico and the Kennedy Dining Room, two renowned nonprofit entities that collaborate with communities in areas of community selfmanagement and food.

This event exemplifies the Chamber of Commerce‘s commitment to fostering new connections and boosting the islands economic vitality. The new tournament as a whole is designed to foster commercial links between entrepreneurs and brands through sport. At the same time, it maximizes the economic value of the golf segment, which originates from a new strategic alliance between both private sector guilds.

The leaders of the private sector said that the event was attended by around 300 entrepreneurs and business executives, including players, sponsors and guests. The event was supported by more than 30 affiliated organizations, including: Shipowners Association, General Contractors Association, Restaurant Association (ASORE), United Retailers Center (CUD) and Southwestern Industrial Association (SWIA).  The Tourism Company hosted the tournament along with more than 60 private sector companies that sponsored the event, including Master Products, One Alliance Insurance, Fulcro, Sign and Media, MCS, Walmart, BPPR, Caribbean Produce Exchange, Caribbean Logistics Solutions and Fresh House, among others from different economic sectors.

Between the two institutions, more than 35 editions of golf tournaments have been successfully held in different places and hostels in Puerto Rico.

It is estimated that the tournament had a substantial economic impact, stimulating business tourism activity with investment related to fourth nights within the framework of the development of new businesses and the commercialization of products and services.
