Mateo Cidre, Presidente
Mateo Cidre, entrepreneur and founder of Sobao by Los Cidrines, La Bodeguita, and La Bodeguita Bar, was elected as the new president of the Hecho en Puerto Rico Association during its annual assembly held at the Convention Center.
He specializes in the gastronomy industry, covering the three most important meal times for humans: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The concept of Sobao by Los Cidrines Bakery & Restaurant stems from a blend of a restaurant concept called El Farol, founded by his grandparents in the 1970s, combined with a bakery and pastry concept that his father established later that decade. This fusion gave rise to both the bakery and the restaurant.
Hecho en Puerto Rico
With a legacy of more than 110 years driving and promoting industries in Puerto Rico, now the organization that groups and leads over 400 local companies, was transformed and evolved into the new Association Made in Puerto Rico, Inc (AHPR). Organization that continues to support, promote and pave the way for the variety of companies and industries that contribute to local economic development.
The origin and mission of AHPR was to protect local manufacturing. Today, it is a representative Association of productive industries of the country and reflection of partners of the diverse economy that exists on the island, and that includes all the productive sectors of Puerto Rican industries such as service, manufacturing, agriculture, fashion, communication, welfare and technology, etc.
This organization elevates and strengthens the powerful phrase of being Made in Puerto Rico because it recognizes and confirms through various initiatives the importance of promoting and supporting local products and services, which provides many business opportunities and great economic boost for the country.
