The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) will hold the official swearing-in ceremony for its new President, Attorney Margaret Ramírez Báez, on Tuesday, July 29, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in San Juan. During the event, the 2025–2026 Board of Directors and Committee Chairs will also be officially sworn in. The ceremony will be attended by prominent figures from both the public and private sectors, marking the beginning of a new leadership term focused on strengthening Puerto Rico’s path toward sustainable economic development.
During the ceremony, Attorney Ramírez Báez will share her vision and reaffirm the PRCC’s commitment to the business community.
“Assuming the presidency of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce is both an honor and a great responsibility,” said Ramírez Báez. “This event symbolizes the united efforts of our Board and Committees to strengthen economic development and improve the well-being of all people in Puerto Rico. I am confident that by working together, we can overcome current challenges and open the door to new opportunities.”
Emphasizing the importance of the moment, she added:
“I feel deeply inspired by the legacy of those who have led the Chamber before me, and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a new era of innovation, open dialogue, and genuine support for Puerto Rican entrepreneurs. This is a historic opportunity to renew our commitment to the values that guide us: integrity, collaboration, and a forward-looking vision.”
The ceremony will be attended by legislative leaders, representatives from the private sector, and members of affiliated associations. These include the Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, Hon. Rosachely Rivera Santana; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Carlos “Johnny” Méndez; and the Chair of the Senate Committee on Economic Development, Hon. Nitza Morán, among others. Also participating will be the 2025–2026 Board of Directors, PRCC Committee Chairs, affiliated organizations, institutional sponsors, and special guests—all of whom will help highlight the importance of this milestone event.
Executive Director of the PRCC, Attorney Liza García, emphasized the significance of female leadership and the spirit of collaboration defining this new administration.
“The arrival of Attorney Ramírez Báez to the presidency represents a major step toward a more inclusive, dynamic, and results-driven Chamber. I am confident that under her leadership, we will amplify the voice of the business sector and continue driving initiatives that foster Puerto Rico’s socioeconomic transformation,” said García.
This gathering will serve as a unique opportunity to reaffirm the PRCC’s role as a key driver of economic growth, innovation, and social responsibility in Puerto Rico.
