Board of Directors
Ramón A. Pérez Blanco, Esq., CPCU
Ex President
Ramón’s passion for business comes from heritage and tradition. When he began his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University, he truly fell in love with the insurance industry. Later, during an internship, he went on to work as a broker for Global Financial Risks in London, England. He then returned to the U.S. to complete his Master of Science with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance, continuing to expand his insurance knowledge as an underwriting assistant for a London-based syndicate specializing in Latin American risks in Atlanta. These experiences later led him to complete his Juris Doctor of Maritime Law at Tulane University School of Law. Ramón returned to Puerto Rico, became admitted as a lawyer and joined the business founded by his father.
He ran various departments in what was then called First Insurance Group, and was in charge of the company’s expansion process in Georgia, later becoming president of the insurance brokerage firm that today is called Fulcro Insurance. In the local business ecosystem, he presided over the Asociación Productos de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Products Association) from 2015-2017. During his time as President of the Association, he served as a Board of Directors member for the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CPPR), also acting as part of its Executive Committee and held a chair on the Affiliated Associations Council (2015-2016).
Motivated by a strong passion to promote public opinion affecting the many issues affecting citizens and companies, and to unify efforts with other Chamber member entities, he decided to run for president of the CPPR and was appointed President Elect for the 2022-2023 term. As president of Fulcro Insurance, he reaffirms his vision of promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of the new generations so that they may continue shaping the business landscape.
