With more than 20 years of experience in financial institutions, Israel Menchaca, as executive president, leads the TUCOOP Credit Union since September 2018. It is committed, analytical, responsible, current, accepts new challenges, sees change as a natural part of the evolution of the individual and companies, and is aimed at results. He holds a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Universidad Puerto Rico.

His career began in 1996 at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, where he worked for 9 years in the Department of Commercial Credit Operations, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking Center of San Juan. He graduated from the “Management Trainee” program with special emphasis on branches and then excelled at the Metro Office Park branch, formerly called Valencia Park. He was invited to belong to the group of branch managers of Banco Santander de Puerto Rico. Later he worked as a branch manager at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria in Puerto Rico where he worked until 2009. That same year he joined Oriental Bank until 2016. Then in 2016 he decided to accept the challenge of providing financial services to the emerging medical cannabis industry of Puerto Rico, whose project concluded in 2017. After a period of time, he accepted the challenge of entering and directing the TUCOOP Savings and Credit Union in which he works until now.
